Accommodation
Insolito Boutique HotelBuzios, Brazil
This owner-designed hotel offers a choice of 24 rooms, some quite quirky but all very spacious and comfortable, the Insolito makes the most of its leafy elevated position overlooking the almost perfectly circular Ferradura Bay.
Timber decks connect the main bar and swimming pool area with the rooms, various relaxation lounges and two other swimming pools whilst giving wonderful views over tree tops out over the bay. A timber staircase leads down to a private hotel beach bar, which in turn gives access to the beach proper and a variety of bars and restaurants.
The town of Bùzios where the hotel is situated in is known as the ‘St Tropez’ of Brazil and has plenty of luxury boutiques, restaurants and nightlife to explore, as well as retaining its vibe as an old fishing village. If you get tired of the beach at Ferradura there are another 22 beaches in the area. The wind here is great for sailing, kite-surfing and yachting and there are other watersports on offer. The water is crystal clear, making it great for snorkelling. Alternatively you can relax at the hotel with its 3 pools, yoga classes, Wellness centre and sauna. There are 2 restaurants: one at the hotel and one on the beach, serving up French-Brazilian fusion cuisine.
It’s definitely worth renting a car if staying here so that you can explore the area and do some beach-hopping to find your favourite.
