Accommodation
Galapagos Safari CampSanta Cruz Island, Galapagos, Ecuador
Galapagos Safari Camp is a unique property located in the highlands of the island of Santa Cruz with splendid views over the island towards the sea.
The main lodge, where all meals are served, also has a delightful verandah where guests can enjoy drinks and dine ‘al fresco’ if the weather is warm enough: breakfast and dinner are included in the room rate. Accommodation is in nine spacious tents and we were impressed with the en-suite bathrooms which have full facilities and hot shower. The Master Suite (which used to be the owner’s house) is more luxurious and can sleep up to six.
The weather in the highlands can be slightly chilly at nights in the cooler months from May-October, and some mists may be encountered; there is a fireplace in the main lodge. The swimming pool really comes into its own in the warmer months and is a great place to chill out.
The Safari Camp is ideal for those who would like to relax after a cruise, or can also be used as a base from which day trips can be arranged to the other neighbouring islands. The Camp is family-friendly and fun for children to enjoy a ‘camping’ experience.
