The hotel is spread across the main house and two separate cottages in the gardens. The Suite Deluxe room is on the top floor and has a private terrace with great views. The Superior rooms each have their own private patios. There is also a family apartment with a child’s room available. The food here is excellent and in the evening Velentina lays on a 3 course menu, which varies every day and has choices including both traditional local and Italian cuisine.

There are a number of activities on offer to experience the best that the region has to offer. Close to home you can enjoy a cookery lesson, learning how to make and bake the famous empanadas of the region, which will then be served up to you as part of your meal. You can also head out and explore the region by bike or horse (with an accompanying bike guide/gaucho) to visit the famous ‘train to the clouds’ or simply to enjoy the beautiful views.

Finca Valentina has the feel of an old colonial house in Kenya and is a tasteful and comfortable place to stay. It’s important to note that it is situated outside of Salta, but it makes for a great base to stay for a night before setting off on a tour to visit the incredible scenery and salt pans of North West Argentina
