EoloPatagonia, Argentina

Quintessentially Patagonian. Understated luxury in a landscape that will take your breath away.

This Relais & Chateaux hotel is designed around the luxury of simple things. And it’s set in the perfect landscape to indulge in this lifestyle, with all 17 ranch style rooms boasting beautiful views of the Patagonian steppe; lakes, mountains and glaciers. The hotel stands in a 10,000 acre lot for your exploration and boasts a small indoor heated pool, dry sauna and fantastic bar and restaurant serving regional produce and with views of the lake. True to its philosophy, there are no televisions in the guest rooms (although there is a television room if you need it), this is a place to switch off and slow down.

You have the Lago Argentino to the north and La Anita valley to the east and giving you a wealth of activities to indulge in: trekking, mountain biking, 4×4 trips, kayaking and fly-fishing can all be done in splendid isolation. Or you can indulge your inner ‘gaucho’ riding on horse-back on Mount Frias. You absolutely can’t come here without seeing the glaciers of the Los Glaciares National Park; a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the largest National Park in Argentina and the most extensive ice cap on the planet outside the polar regions. There are 250 major glaciers in the park; Perito Moreno, Upsala, Viedma and Spegazzini are the main tourist attractions and a glacier trekking trip will never be forgotten.

We loved unwinding here. From the quality of service to the surrounding landscape and activities, it’s absolutely the place to relax and enjoy the beauty of Southern Patagonia. We were particularly impressed with the high culinary standards in the hotel’s restaurant. We would also recommend to stay here if visiting El Chalten or Monte Fitzroy and taking a day trip rather than decamping to another hotel.
