Renovated in 2016 this hotel is designed in Portugese colonial style and to the highest standard. Comprising 177 Rooms and 16 Suites, the best rooms enjoy views of the falls and feature paintings of the local flora and fauna by the Brazilian artist Ludmilla de Montes and traditional ‘azelejos’ (painted tiles) designed exclusively for the hotel. Undoubtedly the best feature of this hotel is its unique positioning and privileged access to the Iguassu Falls; a collection of 275 waterfalls over almost 5km and one of the New Seven Natural Wonders of the World. As a guest, you will get exclusive access to the falls at evening and dawn, when the park is closed to other visitors. There are raft of excursions available that we can organise for you, including trips to the Argentinian side for stunning views, or, for the more adventurous: white water rafting, jungle treks to see the rich wildlife of the Iguassu National Park and helicopter trips over the gorge. If you are lucky enough to visit at a full moon, walk to the falls at night to see a magical lunar rainbow.
