Owned and run by the seventh generation of an Anglo-Argentinian family, Estancia Los Potreros is a 6,500 acre working ranch located in the beautiful ‘Sierras Chicas’ hills northwest of Cordoba.
Guests stay in the original house and outbuildings at the centre of the estate, which date back 300 years. These have been converted to comfortable en-suite rooms and self-contained cottages, complete with wood burning stoves. They are simple and traditional in style. Meals are European and draw on organic produce from the estancia and its own label wines.
The activities here are centred around the workings and enjoyment of this organic cattle and stud farm. Horse riding here caters for all abilities, from beginners to experienced riders playing polo on the Estancia’s own pitch. You can also help the gauchos round up the young horses to protect them from puma, watch the horse-breaker at work, or even try your hand at lassoing. However, guests are also free to wind down, read and relax by the swimming pool. Walking is also a great way to explore. The birdlife in the area is spectacular and plentiful, including vultures, eagles, hummingbirds and condors. Golf and paragliding are also possible nearby.
Transfers to and from the estancia are included and the tariff is full board.
