Palacio Duhau Park HyattBuenos Aires, Argentina

Set in formal gardens surrounding an elaborate fountain the Park Hyatt occupies the restored neoclassical ‘Palacio Duhau’ and an adjoining modern building, the 17-floor Posadas tower. The Palace dates back to the 1930s, and has been restored in keeping with the history and the character of the building. This relatively large hotel is located on Avenida Alvear, in the heart of the fashionable and upmarket Recoleta district and offers easy access to many of the city’s main sights.

We love the grand style and imposing features of the Palacio and its impressive public areas. The 126 elegant guest rooms and 39 sumptuous suites are housed in both the original palace and the new annexe and offer all the top notch services and facilities you would expect from one of the city’s top hotels and the Park Hyatt brand.

Three refined restaurants, some with garden terraces, offer a choice of dining options alongside a plush cigar bar. The excellent gym, well appointed Ahin Spa and 25 metres heated indoor swimming pool make this hotel a top choice for those that want to pamper themselves or do some exercise during their stay.

We stayed in one of the spacious Deluxe rooms in the new building, which have a neutral and modern décor with large bathrooms that features both a walk-in shower and a bathtub. There is a separate walk-in-closet area and a desk area.

Don’t miss the underground art gallery, which links the two buildings and features works from many well-known international and local artists. All-in-all this hotel would suit the most discerning guests who prefer larger hotels and is a Miraviva top pick, particularly during the winter months.
