Chile's Wine Valleys
A visit to Chile’s vineyards is a unique experience and a must for wine-lovers
An easy drive south of Santiago down the Central Valley brings you to the heart of the wine region – Maipo, Cachapoal and Colchagua being the first three valleys you will come across.
Protected by mountains on either side and with fertile soils and a Mediterranean type climate, the area is ideally suited for the production of high quality wines. Some of the wineries have benefited from very substantial investment in the last two years with the intention of raising the quality of the red wines to rank with the best in the world.
At Vik Chile you can stay in the centre of the 10,000-acre vineyard surrounded in all directions by the estate extending up to the mountain ridges, providing great opportunities for walking, riding or cycling in addition to the obligatory wine tasting.
