Fabulous wine country in the shadow of the Andes

Mendoza is one of the most attractive provincial capitals in Argentina and is in the heart of Argentina’s wine region. Set at the foot of the Andes in the Cuyo region, the town lies in a beautiful and fertile oasis formed by the Mendoza and Tunuyan rivers.

With its historic piazzas, and shady elegant tree-lined avenues, it offers a broad choice of activities for adventurers, historians and epicureans alike. Harvest at The VinesHarvest at The Vines

Consider visiting during the wine harvest festival: the “Vendimia” takes place the first weekend in March each year. You will be treated to folksong and dance performances from local and invited artists, with spectacular processions in honour of the Virgin of the Vine and the election of the National Queen of the Wine Harvest.

Vineyards for all

Mendoza is a province for all seasons, and now boasts some 550 wineries, ranging from small boutiques to large-scale exporters. Many of these welcome visitors and you can spend happy days eating and drinking your way around the ‘Rutas del Vino’ (Wine Routes). Take an outing in an old Citroen 2CV or get on your bike and pedal your way around. The choice is yours. Or for the more energetic, the foothills of the Andes offer many exciting hiking and horse riding opportunities.

Set against the dramatic backdrop of the Andes some of Argentina’s best luxury boutique hotels offer top notch accommodation, fine dining and spa experiences making Mendoza a perfect Miraviva experience.
