With the beautiful backdrop of the Andes, deep-blue and emerald lakes, this region offers a haven of activities and is one of our favourite family destinations.
Long popular with fly-fishing enthusiasts, the area is open all year round, offering walking, horse riding, numerous water sports and in winter, skiing.
Bariloche is the main port of entry for visitors travelling from other parts of the country. Comfortable and homely lakeside accommodation combines well with a few days near the enchanting mountain village of Villa La Angostura, before moving on to San Martin de Los Andes where the quality of the brown and rainbow species of trout is world famous.
Many of our guests visit to this region after spending time in the neighbouring Chilean Lake District on the other side of the Andes.
