Fasano, Sao PauloSao Paulo, Brazil
The Fasano family established their reputation for fine Italian dining in Sao Paulo in the early 20th Century, and today’s generation recognized a dream when the first of the Fasano Hotels was opened in Sao Paulo in 2003.
The 1930s remains at the core of the hotel’s interior design, and the reception area is dominated by the use of English bricks and Italian travertine marble. As guests enter the hotel, they are greeted by the bar, with the reception and concierge desk discretely hidden away. This hotel is about hospitality, and ensuring guests are left with a taste of Sao Paulo’s history and of course excellent Italian food in the Fasano restaurant, which is amongst the best in the country. There is also a more informal trattoria, Nonno Ruggero, and famous Baretto, a music bar with live jazz and bossa nova every night.
The 60 guest rooms are all extremely spacious, and the suites feature sliding doors to separate the rooms. The hotel also contains an excellent spa.
There is something distinctly charming about this hotel. With great attention to detail the architectural project led by Isay Weinfeld and Marcio Kogan has succeeded in bringing to Sao Paulo a hotel which exudes warmth and style without the pretentions of many other modern hotels.
