Accommodation
Hotel MagnoliaSantiago, Chile
From the street frontage the Hotel Magnolia appears to be a well restored three storey art-nouveau town house dating from 1929; it takes a few moments to realis that the glazed façade of the upper floors is effectively a mirror image of the floors below. On entering the building, the classic black and white tiled floor and beautiful old staircase create an immediate impression, but there is also a modern glazed atrium and reception area. The architecture combines the best of old and new.
The hotel is well located in the “El Centro” neighbourhood, but within a short walking distance of the bars and restaurants in Lastarria. There are 42 rooms categorised according to size, ranging from 26 square meters to 45 square meters, a good size for a city centre hotel. A rooftop bar has a generous seating area and good views over the city and the nearby Cerro Santa Lucía. The main restaurant is located at the bottom of the atrium on the ground floor.
This is one of our favourite hotels in Santiago.
