Amantica LodgeLake Titicaca, Peru
This new two bedroom lodge occupies an extraordinary position on the edge of the rocks of Amantani Island, capitalising on the breathtaking views over Lake Titicaca where the clear air and bright skies particularly highlight the water and the cloud formations.
Guests have the lodge to themselves but are looked after by a dedicated staff including an excellent chef who was trained at a top restaurant in Bolivia. There are several villages on the island but virtually no other tourists, making this an ultimate getaway destination.
There are good local walks and a few Inca ruins on the island itself, or with prior notice an excursion can be arranged to the Uros floating islands or Taquile Island. But many visitors will not want to venture far from the luxury of this small hotel; what a wonderful place to go on honeymoon!
