Accommodation
Hacienda BambusaCoffee Region, Colombia
This is a working hacienda with cocoa, ginger, plantain, banana and tangerine plantations, as well as cattle. It’s a peaceful place, set amongst fields and mountains in the southern part of the Coffee Region.
The house is made of bamboo and clay tiles and has seven rooms. These are simple and charming with their own private balconies and hammocks. All of them have a view of either the swimming pool or the hotel gardens. There are rooms with extra occupancy for families with children. The restaurant is run by Luz Adriana Martinez, who serves up delicious dishes prepared with products cultivated on the hacienda.
There are plenty of activities here to take advantage of the region. There is hiking, mountain biking, horse riding and hot air balloon flights if you want to explore the area (the hikes can be done with a biologist as a tour guide to learn about the flora and fauna of the area). Or to explore the tastes of the area there are cooking classes, cocoa workshops and coffee tastings and tours. Watch this short video of our own cacao tasting experience.
