The Txai is a top quality resort hotel located on a beautiful and secluded beach, to the south of Salvador and close to the small town of Itacare. The hotel is situated on a 92 hectare site, previously a coconut and cacao estate.

The 38 bungalows are set on stilts and are spread throughout the estate, positioned around attractive gardens, shaded by palm trees, and some enjoy an elevated position with extensive views. All have air conditioning and WiFi. The facilities in the resort are fantastic, including 6 swimming pools (including a 50m pool and a wonderful infinity swimming pool at the cliff top spa with views of the sea and mountains). There are 3 excellent restaurants which blend Bahian ingredients with international culinary techniques and a hold a vast selection of South American and International wines. It is also possible to arrange private dining if you wish.

In addition to spending time at the spa, (which we would highly recommend,) other activities on offer include hiking, biking, canoe trips, rappelling, rubber rafting, surfing lessons and trips and cultural tours.

This is a very high end hotel, it has its own VIP lounge for guests at Ilheus airport, the resort is beautifully kept and the facilities are first class.
